Question 1

Who can see my plans with friends?

Accepted Answer

Only people you send the invite link to. Private plans never appear in search, on maps or on the events list, and the invite page is hidden from search engines.

Question 2

What are places?

Accepted Answer

A shared guide to somewhere you could meet up — cinemas, parks, pools, galleries, gyms, churches and more. Pick one as the venue for a plan, or just use it for ideas.

Question 3

Why do you ask about advertising cookies?

Accepted Answer

Get Out There is free because of advertising and organisers who promote events. If you accept advertising cookies, the ads you see are more relevant. You can choose essential only and everything still works, and change your mind any time from the cookie settings.

Question 4

Is Get Out There free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Discovering events, RSVPing, and creating an account is completely free. Listing social club events is also free. Commercial events (ticketed, paid entry) will have a paid tier when we launch that feature.

Question 5

My club already has a listing on the site. How do I claim it?

Accepted Answer

We automatically import publicly available event data. If your organisation is already listed, you can claim it from the listing page. Click "Claim this organisation" and we will verify your ownership by email.

Question 6

Does Get Out There take a booking fee?

Accepted Answer

No. We don't process payments. For ticketed events, we link to the organiser's official booking page on third-party ticketing platforms. Payments happen entirely on those platforms.

Question 7

What areas are covered?

Accepted Answer

We cover towns and cities across the UK, indexing events from public listing platforms and local venues. Coverage grows as organisers list directly on Get Out There.

Question 8

What is the difference between a social club and a commercial event?

Accepted Answer

Social clubs are recurring, free or low-cost community-run activities (run clubs, book clubs, etc.). Commercial events are ticketed or venue-run (concerts, 5-a-side leagues, etc.). You can filter by either using the "Kind" filter in the header.

Question 9

Is my location data safe?

Accepted Answer

We only use the city-level location you enter when searching. We never request GPS or background location access. Location is not stored unless you explicitly save it to your profile.

Question 10

Can I use Get Out There on mobile?

Accepted Answer

The website works fully on mobile browsers. A dedicated iOS and Android app is in development.
